Where the Current Leads
24” x 24” x 1.5” | Mixed Media on Cotton Canvas
Where the Current Leads invites you into a landscape that exists somewhere between the familiar and the imagined.
Rich blues, earthy greens, warm orange, violet, and soft neutrals move through the painting like water finding its own way. Layers of color, texture, expressive marks, and unexpected details create a world that seems to shift the longer you look. A path becomes a stream. A shape becomes a distant structure. Something hidden suddenly appears—and then disappears again.
There is a sense of movement throughout the piece, as though the painting is quietly asking you to follow rather than figure out where you’re going.
Created intuitively through layers of mixed media, Where the Current Leads reflects that beautiful space where control gives way to curiosity. It is about trusting the pull toward what catches your attention, following what feels alive, and allowing yourself to discover what waits beyond the obvious.
At 24 inches square, it brings rich color and visual interest without overwhelming a space. It would be beautiful in an intimate living area, entryway, reading nook, bedroom, or layered into a thoughtfully collected home where art is chosen for the story and feeling it brings—not simply to fill a wall.
