Where the Light Finds You
Where the Light Finds You
12” x 16” | Mixed Media on Cotton Canvas
Sometimes we don’t have to go looking for the light. Sometimes it finds us.
Where the Light Finds You is an intimate abstract world filled with mystery, color, and quiet discovery. Deep blues, rich plum, and earthy passages gather around a luminous center, creating the feeling of stumbling upon a hidden clearing where the light has somehow found its way in.
Touches of turquoise, pink, green, gold, and warm orange appear like tiny treasures among the layers. Some reveal themselves immediately. Others wait until you move closer.
Organic forms emerge and disappear throughout the painting, suggesting pieces of landscape, foliage, perhaps even small inhabitants of this imagined world—without ever completely defining what you’re meant to see.
That’s part of the experience of this piece.
The longer you look, the more it gives you.
Built intuitively through layers of mixed media, texture, expressive marks, and partially concealed passages, Where the Light Finds You holds the history of its making beneath the surface. Those imperfections and discoveries create a painting that feels less like an image of a particular place and more like a place you somehow wandered into.
At 12” × 16”, this one-of-a-kind original is small enough to live in an intimate corner of your home yet layered enough to continually draw you closer. Display it on its own, tuck it into a collected gallery wall, or place it somewhere you’ll have the pleasure of discovering its little hidden moments again and again.
